I spent 25 years in healthcare and life sciences doing work I was genuinely proud of — leading cross-functional teams, advising C-suites, running transformational initiatives, and being the person organizations called when something complicated needed to get done right. And then, like a lot of women in their 50s, I found myself in a moment I hadn't planned for: unexpectedly unemployed, staring at a job market that seemed deeply confused about what to do with someone who had my level of experience.
I did what most of us do. I updated the resume. I rewrote the LinkedIn profile. I took the calls, went on the interviews, and tried to figure out why nothing was landing. Somewhere in the middle of all of that, I realized the real problem wasn't my qualifications. It was that I didn't have a clear framework for this specific moment. The tools that existed were built for people at the beginning of their careers — not for executives who'd been playing at the highest levels and suddenly needed to find a new game entirely.
The Golden Butterfly Pivot™ came out of that process — the frameworks I developed, the patterns I identified in my own transition and in the transitions of the women around me, and the deep conviction that experience, when it's properly understood and positioned, is the most powerful career asset in the room. I created Goldie because I wanted every woman who needed this to be able to access it — not just the ones who could afford high-end one-on-one coaching or had the luxury of unlimited time.
I'm not going to tell you this process is always comfortable. Some of what comes up in the Pivot Compass work is hard. But I'll tell you that clarity is worth it — and that the other side of this transition is genuinely better than you're imagining right now.
